The Southern Unstriped Scorpion, Vaejovis carolinianus, is common throughout north Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and as far north as Kentucky. Scorpions are ambush hunters: their eyesight is poor so they lay in wait for something to walk past.
Scorpions are found in rocky terrain or in moist, wooded habitats
Will readily enter homes during the spring and summer months
Scorpions have a sting roughly equivalent to that of a wasp or hornet
Some individuals may experience an allergic reaction to the venom
Scorpions are generally difficult to control
Like spiders, scorpions tread lightly and do not readily pick up residual sprays
Control usually comes down to habitat modification and sealing entry points into the structure
We have service centers throughout Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina.
